Socially Distanced Strawberry Picking

The 'Rona is really messing with all our summer plans, y'all. My kids are home ALL DAY EVERY DAY and GET THEM OUT OF THE HOUSE ALREADY!

Unfortunately summer activities are limited, so after some digging around I found the perfect solution. So we decided to load up the kids and head to the Berry Farm. I have taken Jordan before (my 11yo) but it has been YEARS, and she doesn’t remember it.

Y’all would have thought I invented berry picking with how excited they were. Honestly I expected it to be a bit of a pain (yelling at them to stop eating the berries, getting them to help etc…) but I am SO glad we chanced it anyway!

When we got there, it was an adorable mom and pop roadside deal. The gentleman in charge hooked us up with some baskets and off we went to find the perfect spot to pick.

Harper LOVES strawberries and immediately sat down in the middle of a row and started eating. After a bit of effort I was finally able to convince her to put the occasional strawberry in the basket.

The big girls decided to make it a contest to try to fill their bucket before I could fill mine.

Even Josh got in on the fun and gave me a rare smile for the camera!

We ended up with an entire flat of strawberries from our trip, and three VERY full little girls!

I’m thinking of trying my hand at making strawberry preserves… If that happens, I’ll keep you updated!
